David E. Humke

David E. Humke was District Court Judge in Department 14 of the Family Division of Second Judicial District Court from 2014 - 2019.

Judge Humke was born in 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa. He received a B.A. degree from Parsons College, Iowa, a Master's Degree from the University of Iowa, and a J.D. from the Nevada School of Law, Reno.

Prior to joining the bench, Judge Humke was a member of the Nevada Assembly representing District 26 from 1983 to 2001. In the Assembly, he was a member of the Interim Finance Committee, Assistant Minority Floor Leader in 1991 and 1999, and co-chair of the Assembly Committee on Judiciary in 1995.

After leaving the Assembly, Judge Humke served as the commissioner for District 2 on the Washoe County Board of Commissioners from 2003 to 2014.

Judge Humke died on May 5, 2022 at the age of 73.
