Possible Conditions

  • If the court has ordered no contact with the alleged victim, you are prohibited from having contact until the order is modified or removed by the court.
    • If the No Contact Order has been lifted be sure to inform your officer and have them confirm this with the court.
  • The no contact order includes direct, indirect, and third-party contact.
  • You are prohibited from being within 100 feet of the alleged victim's residence, school, or place of employment.
    • NOTE: 100 feet is the standard distance given, however the Judge can specify a different distance.
  • If you need to get personal belongings from a residence where you could potentially come into contact with the alleged victim, a civil standby can be requested. Contact law enforcement in your area to schedule your one-time visit. You will need to bring your yellow Acknowledgement with you. Within 72 hours after arrest (Monday - Friday).
  • If the court orders that you stay in the State of Nevada or Washoe County, you must remain as ordered unless you have been granted approval from the court. Work with your supervising officer and attorney if you have a request to leave the prescribed area.
  • The court has ordered that you are not allowed to have access to or possess weapons or firearms during the pendency of this case.
  • If you own or possess any firearms or weapons prior to this order, you will need to provide your supervising officer a list of these items and where they will be stored while this condition is in place. This list should include: the item, location of the item, and the name and phone number of the individual who has taken possession of the items for you. Please contact your attorney for a list of weapons that are included in this provision.
  • GPS: This device will track your location 24-hours a day through an ankle bracelet.
  • Remote Breath Device (OSM): This is a device that will attach to your smartphone that will allow you to breath test while on the go. Ensure you have your smartphone with you for the enrollment.
  • SCRAM Alcohol Monitoring Bracelet: This device provides 24-hour a day alcohol monitoring through an ankle device.
House Arrest: If the court has placed you on house arrest, this could be with or without electronic monitoring through an ankle bracelet.
  • You must provide your supervising officer and monitoring agency a weekly schedule of your activities.
  • You must receive approval to leave your residence. Approved reasons include verified:
    • employment or school;
    • legal;
    • medical appointment for yourself or your dependents.
  • Activities outside of these categories will require a Judge's approval. Work with your supervising officer and attorney if you have requests outside of the approved activities.

  • If the court has ordered you to abstain from alcohol while under Pretrial supervision you will be subject to testing for alcohol.
  • You are not allowed to take over the counter medication that have alcohol such as NyQuil, Vicks, or Zzzquil. Read the label - if the medication has alcohol in it - it is prohibited.
  • Use an alcohol-free mouthwash.
  • You are not allowed to drink kombucha. Kombucha contains alcohol and can cause a positive alcohol test.
  • Non-Alcoholic beer can contain alcohol. Make sure you are reading labels.
  • If the court has ordered, you not to use any controlled substances without a valid prescription while under Pretrial supervision you will be subject to testing for controlled substances. This includes marijuana.
  • If you have a medical marijuana card, or intend to get one, you will need to discuss this with your supervising officer. A case note will be submitted to the court along with your approved card or approved application. The Judge will decide if you can use medical marijuana. In some cases, your officer will need to submit a letter from your doctor advising the court your diagnosis and the reason why medical marijuana is recommended. You will not be allowed to use marijuana until the court has approved marijuana use. If your case waives to District Court, your supervising officer will advise the District Court Judge that you have been approved or denied use in the lower court. The District Court Judge can change the condition set by the lower court.
  • All prescriptions you are taking need to be submitted to your supervising officer for drug testing purposes. You can text or email pictures of the prescription bottle or request a printout from the pharmacy
  • If your medications change, make sure you advise your supervising officer.
  • If you go to the hospital, your discharge paperwork will have any medications you were given under the hospitals care. Submit this to your supervising officer.
  • If you are unsure about a medication or supplements, talk to your pharmacist or doctor.
  • Avoid any medications that contain pseudoephedrine, dextromethorphan, or ranitidine. These can be found in medications like Robitussin, Benadryl, Sudafed, Zantac, and Claritin-D.
  • Avoid Kratom and synthetic supplements.
  • Avoid products that contain THC or CBD.
  • Do not consume poppy seeds. Poppy seeds may cause a positive test for opiates in close enough proximity to testing. If you test positive, this will be considered a positive test.
