Motions & Oppositions

These packets can be printed directly from this website or obtained by picking them up at the Second Judicial District Court Resource Center. The fees and some of the types of packets available are listed below:

Motions:

Filing Fees can be $0, $25, or $154 depending upon circumstances of the case

Motions are used to request an action from the court within pre-existing cases.
A motion CANNOT be used to start a new case.
The motion process can take up to two months to receive a response from the court, if your situation requires immediate attention, please see "Ex-Parte Motions" below.

Ex-Parte Motions:

Filing Fees can be $0, $25, or $154 depending upon circumstances of the case

Ex-Parte motions are used to request an action from the court within a pre-existing case that requires an immediate response:
- See Rule 43 & Rule 11 of the "RULES OF PRACTICE FOR THE SECOND JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT OF THE STATE OF NEVADA" to determine whether or not your situation qualifies for an Ex-Parte motion.
The Court typically responds to these motions within 72 business hours
Ex-Parte motions CANNOT start a new case.
Ex-Parte motions are not withheld from the opposing party. If they have an e-Flex account, they will be notified that an Ex-Parte motion was filed and can log in to view it.

Oppositions:

Filing Fees can be $0, $25, or $82 depending upon circumstances of the case

Oppositions are used to respond to a motion filed by the other party.
