Biography
Alicia Lerud joined the Second Judicial District Court’s Executive Leadership Team in 2015. She has served in the role of Court Administrator & Clerk of Court since April 2021. Prior to being appointed Court Administrator & Clerk of Court, Ms. Lerud served as an Assistant Court Administrator with a focus on court room operations. In executing her responsibilities, she is committed to supporting the District Court’s mission of delivering court services in a fair and efficient manner that instills public confidence in the court process.
Prior to joining the District Court, Ms. Lerud was employed as a senior deputy attorney general by the Nevada Attorney General’s Office. While at the Attorney General’s Office, she had opportunities to both serve as day-to-day counsel for large agency clients and serve as litigation counsel on a variety of case types. Ms. Lerud calls upon this past experience in taking a risk-management based approach when considering decisions that affect the District Court.
Ms. Lerud received her juris doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law in Las Vegas, Nevada, and her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. Ms. Lerud is a licensed member of the Nevada Bar. She is also a member of the Washoe County Bar Association, National Association of Court Management, National Association of Presiding Court Officers, and is a past president of the Northern Nevada Women’s Lawyers Association.
Outside of the Court, she enjoys travelling both within the United States and internationally. Depending on the season, she does her best to spend weekends outside hiking, biking and skiing.
