Biography
Valerie Moser serves as the Second Judicial District Court’s Chief Fiscal Offer, a position she has held since 2021. In this role, Ms. Moser leads the Fiscal Services team to success by promoting timely and accurate financial information, by meeting fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities, and by addressing the Court’s operational needs in a fiscally responsible manner. Ms. Moser also serves as a member of the District Court’s Executive Leadership Team which is responsible for the overall management of court operations and personnel.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Moser served the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office for 14 years in various assignments including Fiscal Manager, Fiscal Compliance Officer, and Grants Coordinator. Ms. Moser also worked with the City of Reno as a Senior Management Analyst and Management Analyst where she received the Chief’s Commendation Medal for her work acquiring and managing new grant awards.
Ms. Moser received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno, with high distinction. She earned dual minors in Spanish and Drug and Alcohol Substance Abuse Counseling.
Ms. Moser is passionate about the transparency and accuracy of Court Fiscal Operations and leads with excellence. She is a member of the National Association of Court Management. She was raised in Nevada and enjoys traveling to new places abroad with her husband. She often spends her free time with her dog, visiting with friends, gardening, cooking, and reading.
