Biography
Julie Wise serves as the Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development, a department she has administratively overseen since 2018. Empowering employees by developing their talent, understanding employee needs, expanding learning opportunities and encouraging a healthy workforce are key areas of focus for this department. Ms. Wise is also part of the Executive Leadership Team which is responsible for the overall management of court operations and personnel.
Ms. Wise has been employed with the Second Judicial District Court since 2006. Prior to her tenure, Ms. Wise gained professional experience with interagency collaboration, strategic planning, public speaking, and system reform efforts through her work at the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.
Ms. Wise received her Juris Doctor from the University of Southern Illinois, Law School. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice complimented by a minor in Spanish from the University of Nevada, Reno.
In 2016, Ms. Wise received her Professional Human Resources certificate. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management. In 2017, she received the Court Executive of the Year awarded by the Nevada Association of Court Executives. She is also a Certified Court Manager through the National Center for State Courts, Court Management Program.
Her experience with court management and human resources are key aspects of her professional successes. Her philosophy on leadership is to create an environment which promotes employee development and success through compassion and sincerity.
